Choose KNAUF for a Comprehensive Insulation Solution
Knauf insulation products, proudly distributed by Brits Nonwoven from our facilities in [locations], are a mineral glass wool material used for eco-conscious, performance-based insulation.
It was designed due to increasing sustainability demands on buildings, construction projects and industrial applications, to offer greater energy efficiency while retaining thermal, fire safety, acoustic and comfort properties.
Made with ECOSE Technology that benefits from no added formaldehyde binder, it uses up to 70% less energy than traditional binders. It’s manufactured from renewable bio-based materials – an alternative to petroleum-based chemicals – and contains no dye or artificial colours.
It’s used mainly for glass and rock mineral wool products.
Ceiling Rolls
Knauf Ceiling Rolls are an insulation quilt that come in 1200mm widths with cut-to-requirement options. Made from ECOSE Technology, they are non-combustible, lightweight, easy to handle and install.
Compression packing allows us to provide more material per unit than competing products, meaning less carrying around. Knauf insulation comes in polythene packs designed for short-term protection only. For long-term protection, it’s best to store indoors, under cover, and off the ground. It should never be left exposed to the elements.
Ceiling rolls do not produce gasses that harm the Ozone layer. They are odourless, rot-proof and non-hygroscopic. They help prevent the growth of fungi, mould or bacteria, and are non-sustainable for vermin.
Ceiling rolls are primarily used for pitched roofs at ceiling level, usually laid in one or two layers, offering a decent level of vapor resistance: 5.00MNs/g.m. The first layer is for the joists while the second layer is for right angles to the joists.
Acoustic Batts
Acoustic Batts are semi-rigid slabs designed for friction-fitting in metal and timber studs, such as for drywall partitioning. They are suitable for intermediate floors with cavities, such as timber or metal joist constructions.
Offering excellent sound absorption, they improve the acoustic performance of internal walls. The 600mm widths suit standard stud centres, offering a quick installation, because they are already cut to the correct size.
Manufactured with ECOSE® Technology for improved handling and installation, the lightweight, compressed packs are easy to carry and less prone to damage when compared to dragging large and heavy packs.
Acoustic Batts have fire-safety properties, having attained a non-combustible A1 Euroclass Reaction to Fire classification.
Why Choose Knauf Insulation Products?
Thermal Performance & Energy Efficiency
When trying to combat climate change, increasing the efficiency of buildings is a priority for governments. Buildings contribute toward 40% of carbon emissions.
Knauf insulation offers thermal performance, with energy saving properties that allow for a unique combination of performance and efficiency, contributing to the overall comfort of users. It keeps buildings warm in winter and cool in summer and helps maintain a stable inside temperature by slowing down heat transfer by convection, conduction and radiation.
This is cost-effective compared to heating systems or air-conditioning.
Fire Performance & Increased Safety
Buildings must be constructed with as little risk of fire and its spread as possible.
Knauf insulation has fire performance with passive fire protection. Should fire occur, buildings should be able to, as much as possible, structurally withstand fire to increase the probability of occupants escaping unharmed.
The non-combustible mineral wool insulation acts as a fire barrier because it does not add to fire’s development stages, minimising its effect and consequences.
Acoustic Performance & Noise Protection
The acoustic performance of Knauf products helps create an improved overall environment for occupants through sound absorption and noise protection.
This is the case for new builds – or within existing buildings – through retrofit, resulting in healthier offices, hospitals, schools and non-residential buildings, and a better quality of life for occupants.
Comfort
It’s well known that buildings have an impact on the health and well-being of occupants.
Knauf insulation products contribute to dry, comfortable indoor environments, adding to the overall good health of buildings, especially when installed correctly and partnered with a controlled ventilation system.
By preventing air leaks, uncontrolled condensation and possible mould spores, mildew or microbial organic compounds, it helps create a well-insulated, airtight building envelope.
ECOSE® Technology contributes to high levels of indoor air quality, being the world’s first products to be awarded the Eurofins Gold Certificate for Indoor Air Comfort.
Applications
Knauf insulation products have various applications for commercial and residential buildings – both for new builds and refurbishment projects.
It’s ideal for roofs, walls, floors, fire protection, green roofs, bespoke applications and HVAC.
