Thickness R-values (m²/K/W) K-values (W/m.K) Roll Lengths
50mm 1.28 0.039 8m – 30m
75mm 1.92 0.039 8m – 25m
100mm 2.56 0.039 5m – 20m
135mm 3.46 0.039 5m – 15m

Roll lengths are available in 300 mm increments.

Tools Needed For Installation

Straining wires, G-clamps, galvanized hoop irons, pop rivets, drill, heavy duty staple gun, 10 mm wire staples.

Installation Instructions

  1. When installing the blanket in new buildings over purlins ensure that the straining wires are placed 300 mm apart.
  2. Affix to the roof apex and unroll the blanket longitudinally taking out any slack and attach to the bottom purlin.
  3. To join the blankets fold up the overlapping foil edges and staple, fold the join over and staple again. 4. Caution to be exercised when installing in windy conditions.

Granric FRK is designed to act as a thermal insulation material for air conditioning ducts. Manufactured from a high-quality, non-combustible glass wool insulation with an inert binder, Granric FRK Duct Insulation is wrapped around air conditioning ducts to maintain set temperatures within the air stream, thus contributing significantly to energy savings. Simultaneously, the product acts as a sound absorber to reduce noise emanating from air turbulence within the duct. Granric FRK Duct Insulation is faced on one side with a reinforced foil layer. Black or white metallised foils are available on special request to complement interior decorative design.

GRANRIC FRK Duct Insulation: Benefits & Features

Excellent thermal & acoustic properties: The inherent thermal and acoustic properties of glass wool ensure good performance.
Reduces noise: Granric FRK inherent density enhances the product’s sound absorption properties.
Prevents condensation: Granric FRK reduces the internal/external temperature variances, thus preventing condensation build-up within the duct, decreasing downstream system corrosion risk.
Robust & durable: Granric FRK is made from robust, resilient glass wool, able to withstand wear and tear as well as resist aging. The foil lining is yarn-reinforced to prevent tearing.
Energy efficient: Granric FRK reduces heating/cooling requirements by maintaining constant temperatures within the airstream, thus reducing operating costs.
Lightweight & easy to install:  Granric FRK is easy to process, cut, and apply. Safe to use.
Non-combustible:  Granric FRK is tested in accordance to the latest fire testing protocol SANS 53501 and is classified as A2-s1,d0.
Safe to use:  Granric FRK Duct Insulation does not require PPE for installation.

Tape measure, sharp knife/blade, straight edge and strapping equipment.

Installation Instructions

  1. Before installation of FRK Duct Insulation, ensure that duct surfaces are clean and dry and that all seams/joints are sealed properly.
  2. All portions of the duct designated to receive insulation, should be completely covered with FRK Duct Insulation.
  3. Install the insulation with the facing showing, butting the adjacent rolls tightly together, utilising the 100m facing overlap to ensure an adequate seal.
  4. Seams and joints should be sealed with pressure-sensitive tape, matching the insulation facing.
  5. Where rectangular ducts are 600mm in width or greater, FRK Duct Insulation should be additionally secured with strapping at 300mm centres.
  6. Where a vapour barrier is required, seal all tears, punctures and other penetrations of the insulation facing.
Granric Acoustic Liner is designed as an internal acoustically absorbent liner for application in air conditioning ducts. Apart from its thermal insulating properties, the liner’s predominant function is to absorb and dampen sound generated by the air conditioning equipment as well as turbulence in the airstream. Consisting of a flexible glass wool insulation blanket, the Granric Acoustic Liner is covered with a sonically porous, black, woven glass cloth on the airstream surface. The cloth has a smooth surface resulting in low air friction and is very effective in preventing the erosion of the fiber mat into the airstream.

GRANRIC Acoustic Liner: Features & Benefits

Reduces noise:  Granric Acoustic Liner boasts exceptional acoustic properties, reducing the downstream noise of air conditioning equipment.
Energy efficient: Granric Acoustic Liner reduces heating/cooling requirements by maintaining constant temperatures within the airstream, thus reducing operating costs.
Robust & durable:  Granric Acoustic Liner is made from robust, resilient glass wool, able to withstand wear and tear as well as resist aging. The woven glass lining is specifically woven to meet high tensile strength in all directions. The product is suitable for operating at  temperatures of up to 120°C and air velocities up to 20 m/s.
Lightweight & easy to install:  Granric Acoustic Liner is easy to process, cut, and apply. Safe to use.
Maintenance-free:  Granric Acoustic Liners do not need to be cleaned or replaced.
Non-combustible:  Granric Acoustic Liner is tested in accordance to the latest fire testing protocol SANS 53501 and is classified as A1-s1,d0.
